The World Street Journal had an article today about Microsoft opening up it's software specs. It also mentioned Joel and his product Co-Pilot in the article. However, Joel had many corrections to the article on his own blog. Basically claiming that the article was over hyping Microsoft's release, and totally off on Joel's product. Microsoft released specifications not lines of code.
What I got out of all this though is it makes me wonder just how accurate these stories on WSJ is. It would be interesting to have a newspaper or company that lists its references per article, and or provide some follow-up where people interest in the news or matter can then further investigate.
